{"id":3034,"date":"2025-08-25T20:40:55","date_gmt":"2025-08-25T20:40:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hfhpulm.com\/info\/?page_id=3034"},"modified":"2025-08-25T20:40:56","modified_gmt":"2025-08-25T20:40:56","slug":"relief-trial","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hfhpulm.com\/info\/?page_id=3034","title":{"rendered":"Relief Trial"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Inclusion Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; Patients with CPPE and empyema requiring chest tube placement as standard of care for inpatient management of their pleural space infection with or without intrapleural tPA\/DNase therapy<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; Age &gt; 18 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Exclusion Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; Chest tube has been in situ greater than 24 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; Patients who have chest tubes that can\u2019t accommodate a three-way stopcock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; Chest tube is an indwelling tunneled pleural catheter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; Study subject has any disease or condition that interferes with the safe completion of the study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; Inability to provide informed consent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; If the managing clinician believes the chest tube will be placed for less than 24 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; Patients admitted with an indwelling chest tube following pleuroscopy or alternate pleural procedure preceding tube placement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; Patient has already undergone a pleural procedure for the treatment of the pleural infection of interest (ex: prior chest tube placement or VATS with decortication).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Inclusion Criteria &ndash; Patients with CPPE and empyema requiring chest tube placement as standard of care for inpatient management of their pleural space infection with or without intrapleural tPA\/DNase therapy &ndash; Age &gt; 18 years old.
