If a sweat chloride test needs to be performed to help workup a patient with bronchiectasis (to rule in\/out cystic fibrosis):<\/p>\n

To set up the test<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. The provider or the patient can call the main number at the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Center at the Children\u2019s Hospital of Michigan (313-745-5541)<\/li>\n
  2. Appointments are made for Monday and Wednesday mornings.<\/li>\n
  3. Please give the patient a written prescription that states \u201csweat chloride test for Cystic Fibrosis\u201d. They will need to bring the prescription and insurance information to the appointment.<\/li>\n
  4. The test is performed on the 3rd floor of the specialty clinic, 3950 Beaubien Blvd (across the street from Detroit Receiving Hospital).<\/li>\n
  5. The results will be given to the provider\u2014they will not be released directly to the patient<\/li>\n
  6. Test results are usually available the afternoon after the test. You can call to get the result quickly.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
