Triage instructions

  1. Use correct context: HFHS Provider Critical Care
  2. List is found under Shared Patient Lists: “MICU Triage”
  3. Fellows/staff are responsible for adding/removing patients (remove once physically arrived in the unit)
  4. Please add patient to their respective team list prior to removal from MICU Triage shared list
    1. Ex. If patient is assigned to POD 4; please add them to the POD4 list before deleting them from the MICU Triage shared list
    2. To do so, Right click on patient -> select Assign Teams -> Search MICU POD -> Select OK
  5. Dot Phrase for sticky notes: .hfhmicutriage
  6. Call charge nurse for the following (Halo is not a valid form of communication at this time):
    1. Addition of patient to list
    2. Removal of patient from list due to downgrade, cancelled transfer, deceased, no longer requiring ICU etc..
    3. Removing a patient from the list due to a bed assignment in ICU does not require a call to charge nurse as they are already aware of this.
  7. Communicate with charge at designated times: 0800, 1200, 1600, 1930, 0000, 0330 (1930 to avoid fellow signout and 0330 because charge nurses have daily meeting at 0400), this is to discuss bed availability/triage who will come next
