UPDATE with new TIP Sheet.
E-consults has gone live in the pulmonary division via Epic. Here is the attached E-Consults Tip Sheet v12> Tip Sheet to both generate and respond to an e-consult
Important things to note:
- 5 business day specialty turnaround time (or better); this should be handled by the assigned checker on the date/time the e-consult was placed
- Consulting specialist must click EConsult button and create EConsult encounter
- Consulting specialist must use dot/smart phrase (.econsult) and select a EConsult disposition for all EConsults
Patient In Person Follow-Up Required:
- If a potential e-consult is deferred because on review the patient should be seen in person, the e-consult recipient (specialty/EConsult Pool) should help facilitate the appointment.
- If an e-consult details “next steps” (tests, labs, treatment), and the patient should be seen by the e-consult recipient regardless of outcome, the recipient (specialty/EConsult Pool) should help facilitate the appointment.
