If you are having difficulty with poor call quality on the iPhone X, the following steps may help improve quality.
Sprint only recently enabled HD voice (or Voice over LTE/VoLTE) in our area which although is designed to dramatically improve audio quality, we are finding Sprint’s LTE/4G data network might not be mature enough to support this feature and give us coverage parity with their traditional cellular voice network. So all you need to do is disable it and calling will work the same as your old iPhone 7. Also the same may be true for Wi-Fi calling depending on your Wi-Fi network.
- Make sure you’re not using Wi-Fi calling especially at the Henry Ford Locations.
- Disable by going to Settings>Phone>Wi-Fi Calling>Confirm it’s not enabled.
- The new phone supports HD Voice/ Voice over LTE.
- This is designed to vastly improve audio quality but because it’s based on voice over 4G LTE data it could be in a problem area for the newer technology.
- Disable by going to Cellular>Cellular Data Options > Enable LTE>Data only (instead of voice and data). These steps can be slightly different based on iOS version.
