If providers are ordering nebs for a patient with Medicare in clinic, our recommendation is that they send the order to discharge pharmacy (NOT LOBBY).
- The order needs to be the appropriate package size for the directions and be associated with the correct diagnostic code (chart to be posted soon).
- In the ‘notes to pharmacy section’, the provider needs to indicate that the patient has a nebulizer and approximate date they received their nebulizer (month/year). They also need to indicate in this section that it is a K17 patient.
- Example: “Nebulizer received 02/2018. K17 Patient” or “Nebulizer ordered today. K17 patient”
