Epic recently released a system wide upgrade that spells out various words when you attempt to type the accronym, For example “Lifelong NS” is converted to “Life long normal saline”. “F/U in clinic” is converted to “follow units in clinic” etc. This can be disabled.
- In the search bar go to user dictionary
2. Type any abbreviation you want to have stay as an abbreviation. in this box.
You can also do the reverse: in the Auto correct tab, you can type an acronym and have the system spell that out.
