The encounter entitled “documentation” does not allow you to route the note to another provider. Per IT, the only non-live visit encounter that allows routing is “telephone”. If you are documenting in Epic and wish to route your note (ie to the PCP), you need to use the “telephone” encounter even if there was no call to the patient. This allows proper documentation while still enabling the ability to route the note.
