There are 5 new ultrasound machines that are available for use as of Wednesday Nov 12, 2014.
Three S-series sonosites equipped with a linear probe will be available for vascular access. Units will be housed in pods 1, 2 and 4.
One Sonosite Exporte will be available for checkout from the charge nurse on the 5th floor. This machine is equipped with a cardiac, abdominal, and linear probe. The S-series machines should be used preferentially for vascular access so that the exporte can be be used for teaching and other procedures such as paracentesis and thoracentesis.
Please wipe the machine down after use with Kaviwipes and let the charge nurse know when you are done so it can be picked up and available to someone else for use. This machine can only be checked out by a PCCM or CCM fellow or senior staff.
Another Sonosite Exporte will be available on Pod 6 (6N) and housed in the ICU.
